foot fetish ...

Less exciting than the title!

DS is now 3 and since his toddler days has had a thing about cuddling women's legs, minus trousers. He currently tries quite energetically to do it to me when I'm getting dressed or using the loo (very awkward). He will also ask both me and his two grandmas very earnestly if we will remove our socks so that he can cuddle our feet. It's definitely women's legs and I did once catch him stroking a tailor's dummy in BHS ...

I hoped he would simply grow out of it but as he hasn't we are gently but firmly discouraging and making sure we offer him an alternative, more appropriate cuddle. Not least because I don't want him to start doing it to his nursery teachers!

I just wondered if this was within the bounds of normal toddler insanity, or if it's something peculiar to DS? I would be very interested to know.

My 3 year old DS does this too! He also likes to rub his eyeballs all over any available naked flesh ( usually my hands or arms thank goodness ).

I've no idea if he's going to grow up with a fetish, but I love my cuddly affection little boy, especially as DS1 has Aspergers and doesn't DO affection.

affectionate, not affection.

Perhaps I worry too much! It's good to hear he is not alone.

Do you discourage it? Part of the reason I do is that he tends to resist other forms of physical affection, so I suspect it's because he likes the sensation rather than otherwise.I'd prefer to steer him to the more usual ways of expressing affection.

I don't mind what he does when he grows up, that's between him and the ladies involved

Ok, a degree of normal insanity here.

That's good to know. I do remember my friend who's a primary school teacher talking about children who would sit on the carpet gently stroking her leg!

Ds (3.10) is like this, has been for a couple of years.
It seems just to be my feet that receive his attentions thankfully.
Sometimes its just sitting at my feet holdng them in his hands, sometimes he tries to rub my feet against his cheek. Yesterday he was clamped to my leg "but I'm just trying to smell your feeties!!" I asked why and apparently its because they smell like chocolate
I'm just trying to ignore/distract in the main. Its just a bit awkward when its in front of others, have had comments about him being a foot fetishist in the making etc.
Maybe he is (I hope not, although realise thats a bit mean).
But whatever, he's 3 and they tend to be odd in some way or another.
