7 month old DD with nightime wind

Hi

Can anyone suggest anything? My DD is nearly 7 months old and since starting solids(now stage 2 3 times per day) she has got windier. She wakes at least once per night needing to be burped regardless of whether or not I winded her before bed and/or with wind at the other end which distresses her also. She has never slept through and the whole thing about them sleeping better when they start solids is one big myth for me. When it happens i of course do the necessary and I try to put her to sleep on her tummy for wind the other end/massage back/give gripe water if necessary. I do all the cycling with legs massaging I can during the day too but doesnt seem to help-any other tips please? thanks you from a desperately tired person.

Is there anything in particular she reacts to? My dd would get horrible wind with cucumber, for example.

It really is a myth that X,Y & Z will make them sleep through, as far as I am concerned, they sleep through when they are ready, not before.

The wind issue eases once they move around more, is she v active? Maybe some tummy time on the floor before bed?

Or maybe switch to a heavier meal during the day & something lighter at night.

And solids at this stage are really first tastes, so don't over do the food aspect, she should still be getting her main nutrients from breast or formula milk.

When did she start solids?

Hi Thanks very much for your post.

She started solids at about 5 and a half months-her appetite has increased in the last week or so and I decided to give her breakfast as she was asking for her milk way before her 11am bottle. I have thought that maybe she is eating too much because ai lately I have been more guided by her at mealtimes- she has 4 bottles and her most substantial meal is her lunch which will consist of veg/fruit/meat/fish. I have only been giving her rice and puree in the evening as I don't want to try anything too new that late in the evening and although I've read that rice can be difficult to digest it's better for her to have carbs at that time time and not too much protein.Shge is quite active during the day, I make sure she has a couple of sessions of tummy time and make time everyday to play with her. I haven't tried tummy time at night yet perhaps 5-10 mins before her bath? What are your thoughts on the food?thanks
