How often does your toddler wee?...

Strange question I know but my DD is 2.8 and we started toilet training her last August. She took to it very well and has just progressed to using the normal loo with a toddler loo seat. She is dry at night and has been for a while.

My only concern is that she often won't wee for 4-5 hours, some times 6 hours during the day. Is this normal or any cause for concern?

I'm not sure what would be considered "normal", but my DD is the same as yours. She can hold on all day, though has never had an accident. It's probably not altogether healthy that mine can hang on for so long, so I do tend to nag her to go for a wee when I realise she hasn't been for a while.

My DS can hold it all day if not nagged to go.

Dd2 (3.10) every 10 minutes , she has autism and still in nappies.

Dd1 (5) can go hours without going.

dd is like this. do you have other concerns? is wee pale colour? if she's otherwise fine i wouldn't worry

corriefan · 06/01/2010 20:13

My dd is the same. She can wake up in the morning and not have to go for one for quite a while, do one eventually and not do one for hours. She doesn't drink that much though compared to some kids.

DD wees reliably once after she gets up, once around midday, once at around 5pm and one more time before bed if she's had a lot to drink. She's three but it's been much the same since she stopped wearing nappies. You could set your watch by her. I don't think she is dehydrated, just has v good bladder control!

DD only wees about 3/4 times a day too.

She's 2.6, but doesn't drink much - in fact I have to remind her / nag her to drink most of the time.

Thanks for the comments - no I have no other concerns I was just thinking about it and wondering if she was 'normal' - as you do! She must have good a good bladder.
