Potty training a 2 1/2 yr old girl

I tried potty training my 2 1/2 year old girl last month and after 4 days gave up as not one wee was done in either the potty or the loo. We are now trying to sit her on the loo after meals (she seems to prefer this to the potty). However, although she says she know the loo is for wees and poos I am not convinced that she truely understands what is going on! I feel bad as am frustrated. Any helpful advice. Have tried the idea of chocolate buttons if she does a wee in the loo but to no avail (and she loves chocolate buttons...)

Doesnt sound like she is ready. Sorry.

Keep the potty out, keep putting her on the toilet every couple of hours/after meals, but keep her in nappies, and try not to think about it. The time will come when she does "get it", and it will be far easier.

as geordieminx says keep puttin her on potty/toilet at regular intervals (more than just after meals, before as well, first thing in morning, before and after naps and at bath time) and go over board on praise when you catch anything, 4 days isn't that long when she's been using a nappy for 2.5yrs, I also used to take ds to potty once I could tell they were having a poo, whip nappy off and let them do other half in toilet. Any you miss take to toilet and show her you putting it in and flushing it away.
Relax about it, she old enough to pick it up very quicky once you catch a few.
If you want to wait till she's 'ready' then put nappies back on and wait till she asks to have them off, tbh I think you can help speed the process up by doing what you are doing, sounds like you are doing just fine x
