6 week old doesn't want to drink milk. What to do?

My 6week old DS doesn't want to drink his milk. He just chews the teat and chews his dummy, sucks my finger like mad but when I give the bottle - nada!

Also cries alot since yesterday, and since day one he was a quite non-fussy baby.

Is he putting on weight ok?

tasjaSAmuminSA · 04/01/2010 06:58

Oh yes, putting on weight ok, no problem there

So it's a short term thing? If you think he's not well perhaps you could take him to the GP to be checked out?

teething?

tasjaSAmuminSA · 04/01/2010 07:28

My DH said also teething, but isn't it too early? When do they start, I forgot, DD is almost 4.

Best friends dd started about then - HV told her was too early, the next week we saw teeth outlines though! Some babies are born with teeth so not too early

DD's just cut her first at 4.5 months but was definitely teething from around 8 weeks.

Maybe he is ready to go a bit longer between his feeds? I don't think Bonjela is suitable for a baby that age!
