Toilet training-is it time?

Ds (2.5) has just taken nappy off and weed all over his bed. He is also talking more about going to the toilet (although often repeating what he hears from others). Is this is sign that I should be starting toilet training imminently? TIA

You could try, sounds positive really no harm. They say if they are ready after about two weeks they will get the hang of it, if it takes longer they are not. You will know really imo after about 3 days of putting ds in pants whether he has an understanding.

I def would. my ds1 was very keen to get 'big boy shorts' like dh and i jus started slow as he was young so i let him sit on the potty everytime he was getting his nappy changed and huge praise for the tiny wee, then a wk before he turned two i took off nappies for day time altogether and of course there were loads of accidents and changing undies and pants umpteen times a day but after a few days the accidents became rare and he cracked it! He was so delighted with himself If you have the time and dont mind a bit of extra washing go for it! Good luck

Thats ok, wish that my dd 2.9 was displaying signs of readiness and wanting big girls pants, she does not and is not really interested in the potty. I have tried twice to put her in knickers with disasterous results, the last one in october so i am leaving it until she is 3 in March. Good luck sazzerbear.
