Teething at 10 weeks - is this possible?

DS2 is a little on the cranky side bless him, generally unsettled, etc, etc. However, today after he finished his bottle he started really gnawing on my finger and it really felt like the same thing DS2 used to do when he started teething, but that wasn't until 8 months!

Is it possible to start teething this early and if so any tips on coping?!

TIA.

Hello, my daughter had two teeth by 3 months. both the bottom middle ones. She started teething early and my HV was insistent that this is not likely etc etc. There was no denying it when she started using my breast as a teether one night when feeding though!

Calpol helped for pain and I used to put peeled carrots in a bag in the fridge to cool them before giving them to her to sooth her teeth. All the normal teethers (sp) work just as well though. I did not use Bonjela as she was so small but I found that Ashton and Parsons teething powders which you rub on the gums really helpful. She seemed to like those and they calmed down her stomach when she was swallowing so much.

Thanks allstar, we'll keep an eye on it. Just seems to be a likely explanation for his behaviour. Ouch on the using your breast as a teether!

My dd1 was teething by 12 weeks, and my HV also said it was very unlikely!
She also lost them early- all four front teeth were loose at 4. (she said she'd been hit by a boy with a baby doll at nursery but the dentist said they were naturally loose). Her classmates have gappy teeth now (age 7-8)and she has all her adult ones!

my nephew popped first tooth at 6 weeks ds teethed from 6 weeks but took till 6 mths for teeth to get through was definitely teething though they just kept coming up and going back down

we froze corner of flannel and rubbed around gums to help toughen them and just used dentinox every 20mis if needed as can be used from birth

Wow! All her adult teeth at at 7 and teething at 6 weeks !

Was totally unaware of all this with DS1 as he was so late cutting his first tooth!

Thanks for dentinox tip .

My DS started teething at 10 weeks and finally got his first two teeth at 7 months . It was trying to say the least. Poor thing.
