Cos I reckon I could be up and down a bit!

SHe is quite tired and I've kept everything the saem except she is getting into the single bed that we sorted out this morning. She's had the bed in her room for ages and seemed quite happy...

She is nearly finished her milk. DO you think she'll cme find me or fall asleep as usualy....?

Awww dont worry she sounds lovely, i was worried about my dd going into a big bed but needent have worried at all she sleeps better now than she ever did in her cot, i am lucky we have a stairgate on her bedroon door as it does not fit our staies as they re not alined and they curve at the bottom end. If she comes down, say in a firm voice 'its naptime' and take her to bed, do this twice, than keep taking her up without a word after that, then she will get used to it.

Great advice, cheers.

She dfidn;t sleep this afternoon but didn;t 'escape' either. Very excitd about showing Daddy her big girl room but we tried to keep bed time mega normal and not really mention the different bed (its in the same place as her cot was). SHe chuntered for a bout 5 mins.. then dropped off. As insleep... hee hee not fallen off.

Come up on our way to bed and she is head on pillow perfect. She was a gymnastic leeper when she was littler but she seems but settled now.

Have put duvet along the floor.... am praying we don;t wake up to her falling on the floor... and kind of excited at her in the morning as I showed her she could put her own bedside light on and get her books and toys to read in bed. I wonder if she'll come through when she wakes.... All very cute - such a big girl!

Just curious as dd has just turned 2 and we were wondering when to make the move! Hope you get a long lie tomorrow as she happily plays with her toys!

LolaLadybird · 26/12/2009 22:40

DD (now 4) moved into a bed at 2.5 to make way for DS. I was worried about her being in and out of the thing but she never moved - it seemed to take her several months to work out she could get out herself and not wait for us to go and get her when she called out! (We do have one of those bed guards on the side though which maybe made it feel more like a cot).

pigletmania · 26/12/2009 23:11

Thats ok hope that it helps it certainly did the trick for my boisterous dd. How is she sleeping in her big bed.

mumblecrumble · 27/12/2009 09:14

Emily slept very well! Hurray!! She slept till DH alarm went off and then she was talking to her self saying "Oh! I'm in a big girl bed!. Well I can be in the big girl bed..." So I called through"can you turn your lamp on and get a book?" She was very excitied and had a little read....

Ds is 2 & 9 months, and he is still in his cot He climbs into it, and onto every other piece of furniture in the house, but he hasnt figured he can climb out... fool.

He'll still be in there when he's 13

pigletmania · 28/12/2009 14:52

Thats good mumble

mumblecrumble · 30/12/2009 20:42

2 and 9 months doesn;t seem that old?

Am really pleased as she's had 4 really good nights and tonight is looking good so far. Have not had afternoon nap so she is really ready for bed.

Heard a big cry last night and was really worried but it was just that her duvet had fallen on the floor.

She is LOVIN a bit more independence. AM hoping to add a few personal touches soon (when we see how much our car MOT will cost!) but she chose some tissues for her bedside table and is enjoying showing everyone who enters the house her 'big girl bed'.

SHe was very cute this morning as she peeked in out bedroom door. This will not be cute before 6 in the morning I feel....
