DD gets upset when going to Chilminders

My 20 month DD has always loved going to stay with her childminder 2 days a week. She also stays with Gran another 2 days a week. She has always been happy to go to either house. However in the last two weeks she has got upset when we even mention going to the childminders and asks to go to Gran's. When we get there there is lots of tears although when I pick her up she is happy and chatting about the day.

I have always said that if she shows signs of being unhappy there I would make a change. We like the childminder and think she is wonderful.

Do you think it is a phase or should I really take note and think about taking her somewhere else? Or am I being PFB? Your thoughts about the above would be appreciated the whole situation is tugging at my heart strings

This is such a difficult one. Two weeks of upset is not very long- and you might expect another hiccup when she goes back after Christmas if there has been a break. Personallly, if she is happy when you pick her up and you think the childminder is wonderful, then I would persevere. Who is to say that she would prefer somewhere else?

What does the childminder say and can she reassure you about how your DD is during the day? It may be that within about two minutes of you walking out of the door DD has stopped?

My dd did this at exactly the same age. she only goes 1 day a week, the cm said it often happens about this age, it did last about 3 months. If it's just the initial leaving, I wouldn't be too worried, only if it affected her during the day.
