My dgs is just 10 months old[tomorrow]and is recovering from a horrid cold.He is eating now and crawling around playing happily but every now and then he sits up and whacks himself on the side of the head then carries on playing!Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this behaviour?

Maybe he's got earache or catarrh in his ear which he feels like he needs to move. Maybe pop him to the GP tomorrow if he's still doing it?

It might just clear up by itself, though!

Thanks pixie,I am babysitting tonight so a bit concerned. He saw the GP for his cold last week and dd was told his eardrum was a bit pink so that is probably it-back to doc tomorrow then.

I'd agree with Pixie. My ds is only 6.5 months but had a horrible head cold a few weeks ago and kept scratching/hitting his head (as well as he could with a 5 months old co-ordination!) He stopped as soon as the cold went.

Thanks very much-you were obviously right as he has stopped doing it now that his cold is better.I do worry especially when I am babysitting.I watch the monitor as if its a TV waiting for the lights to flash-I am a little deaf and worry that I wont hear.
