Weird question I know but!
We have a 3yr old son and obviously he refers to his bits as his willy but we now have a baby daughter too.
What is the concensus as to acceptable words for girl's bits???

Yes absolutely. My dd only ever uses c*nt. I would not advocate the use of any of those cutesy names. and vagina is just far to square and doesn't if require any asterix

We just call it her Vagina as does she! I thought that most people would, whats wrong with calling it by its name? We also use Penis for our ds genitalia, why not? Would anyone out there go to the Doctor/Nurse and say I have an itchy flower?

My friend and her family use the word tuppie which I find hilarious especially as her dd has a tendency to fiddle and her dh say's (in a broad midlands accent)

'Ooh, ..... get away from me with those tuppie fingers!'

My 23 yr old sis uses the word 'punani' a la Ali G

'Bits', though I wish I had the courage to teach DD 'vagina'. Oh dear, I'm a feminist, I've seen The Vagina Monologues, I should know better ...

VAGINA!

Lizita, I understand what you are saying, I feel similarly. But, (big but!) - vagina isn't quite correct anyway, is it? There isn't actually a single word in the english language to encompass and specify female genitals. So, I suppose, maybe 'genitals' would be more correct than just penis or more particularly, vagina, although still doesn't differentiate between male and female.

I believe 'Yoni' is a sanskrit word for vagina. Although loosely translated, it means 'sacred space'.
That's my preferance!
