how do I get 6 wk old ds to seep in his moses basket?

I should know the answer to this as ds is my 3rd! My prob is he won't settle in his moses basket. I've put it in our bedroom away from the noise of the other 2 and initially he slept quite well up there but now he cries as soon as I put him down. I end up with him in bed with me all night which I don't mind but need him to sleep in the moses basket at other times. I'm worried because I had the same prob with ds1 and want to nip this in the bud!

Are you willing to leave him for 5 or 10 minutes to see if he settles?

Have you tried swaddling and/or a dummy, works for my 7wk old ds.

is it too restricting? my ds liked to sleep with arms and legs spread so grew out of his basket in a couple of weeks.could this be the case?

Have tried dummy but wouldn't take it . Maybe need to try a different one. Tried swaddling but not for a while so could try again. I'm a bit tougher with no. 3 so could leave him for a few minutes but wasn't sure if he's a bit young for that. Also worry at night about waking the other 2.

I think that moses basket mattresses are often too hard and uncomfortable. I padded ours out with a little sheepskin fleece from Ikea and it made a massive difference. They slept really well in it after that. Good luck!

That's worth a try, thanks
