What to do with spitting 2 yr old?

My DS (2.5, well almost) spits CONSTANTLY! He knows we don't like it b/c he looks at me and grins after he does it. He does it when he's angry but also just to get a rise out of DH and me.

We have tried giving him time-outs, ignoring the behavior, a firm "No spitting! Stop that right now," distracting him, telling him he can spit outside but not in the house...what to do? Just ignore and hope it goes away?

It's annoying as all hell really.

Thanks, Lenin. That's what my mom said, that he would eventually stop...and then find some other equally annoying thing to do.
