Height centile at 8 weeks

I'm a bit worried by my DD5s height. According to the Health Visitor she's on the 91st centile, though she did say it could be 'human error'; I'm 4' 11" so she's not at all likely to be naturally tall! Did anyone else have a bizarre height recorded at this age? Her weight is 75th centile and she looks very chubby.

why are you worried? nothing wrong with being tall, and no reason to think sh'll stay on that centile anyway.

Ineedsomesleep · 10/12/2009 19:57

I would put it out of your mind completely. If she is on the 91st centile, so what? If it is human error, there could be worse things that go wrong.

Forget about it and enjoy your baby, just the way she is.

meant to add, height/length measurements are very inaccurate until they can stand up to be measured anyway

I'm worried about a pituitary problem causing unnatural growth. I'm panicking over nothing aren't I? The Health Visitor seemed really taken aback by the measurement.

They don't measure babies lengths in my area at all.
I really wouldn't worry.
Dd1 was referred to hospital as her height and weight were way off the top of the chart.
They weren't that interested, and although she is still tall age 9 she is completley in proportion and will probably stop growing at 12 like I did.

what's wrong with her being tall? someone has to be there, and just because you're only 4' 11 doesn't mean there aren't any "tall" genes somewhere along the line

ds3 was off the chart at his 6 week check!
