6 months waking in the night screaming.

DD has always been a really happy baby. I know we have had it really easy until now as she slept though from 6 weeks, with only an occasional waking every 2 or 3 weeks.

Now, for the last 3 weeks she has woken up screaming and has taken 1.5 hours at least settle her again. I am shattered and don't know what to do to help her.

Any ideas?

what do you do when she wakes up? is she hungry?

tasmaniandevilchaser · 09/12/2009 15:39

teething?

Chica31 · 09/12/2009 15:53

I was feeding her, she is bf. But for about a week she isn't settling again. She also started waking up at the same time every night, so I wondered if it was just habit. 2 nights ago I was able to sshh pat her back to sleep, bit since then she hasn't wanted to be fed, or cuddled or any thing. She just screams!

I'm not sure if it is teething. She doesn't have any teeth yet at 29 weeks. She isn't really showing symptoms in the day. Maybe at night, but not really.

My DS slept thru in the early days but when he hit 6 months he became less settled.

He had lots of bugs and teething pain around that time.

she hasn't got a bug, never had a cold even, touch wood.

It could be teething pain, do they normally go off their food? She was eating solid food really well, but last couple of days she clamps her mouth shut and screams. I just give up at that point rather than having a battle.

She has also become a milk monster.

What do you give for teething pain. I have some bonjela type stuff, baby paracetamol, but i have also read about some sort of powder. What is it? I live in Spain and was trying to describe it to the chemist, but she looked at me as if I was crazy! My friend told me that the bonjela type gel isn't as good here, I'm going back to the UK in two weeks so I can stock up.
