just cos he can? is this a common toddler thing?

obv I checked for worms etc but can't see owt. Dunno what I'm really expecting tho. My only experience of worms was my cat. That was very obvious.

Because he can.

gingel · 02/12/2009 12:28

I imagine it is just because he can! Is he recently potty trained? It might be that he's just found it!

ChickensHaveNoTinsel · 02/12/2009 12:28

I would go with 'because he can'. Just wait until he discovers his willy....

ShinyAndNew · 02/12/2009 12:30

I second or third because he can. My 2.6 yo dd2 started doing this last week. The novelty wore off quickly.

kidcreoleandthecoconuts · 02/12/2009 12:30

he might just be exploring a bit iykwim.
Check his poo for worms. If he has them they will be visible in the poo as little white thin worms.

herjazz · 02/12/2009 13:18

ooh thanks for replies

will check for white things in poo. Ugh hope its not worms. Far prefer it to be passing phase of self discovery. Then a lifetime of fiddling with his willy, eh chickens!

Not potty trained - potty cajoled possibly

herjazz · 02/12/2009 13:21

Just for fun, i should think

pagwatch · 02/12/2009 13:55

Has he lost something. You don't have any small pets or plastic toys missing do you...

herjazz · 02/12/2009 14:02

oh lordy you don't think that's where thomas's coal has gone?

Pineapplechunks · 02/12/2009 14:09

If he's discovered them as well, he probably does it to his nose and his ears too.

pagwatch · 02/12/2009 14:12

as long as you know where the cat is I wouldn't worry too much

moomaa · 02/12/2009 14:22

Mine did do this, 'twas a phase and it passed. He did however have piles at the time as he was obsessed with wanting to do a poo. They cleared up quickly though once he stopped straining every time he went to the loo.

freeway4 · 02/12/2009 17:22

ha, sorry thats just really made me laugh, i caught my son pulling his willy to see how long it would go, must b a boy thing!

CaptainUnderpants · 02/12/2009 17:36

aslong as he isn't sticking it up the cats bum then I wouldn't worry

next stage is hands constantly down trousers - that stage lasts for at least 40yrs !

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 02/12/2009 17:53

DS did this last night! Just stood in his room before bath and shoved his finger in his bum. Lovely.
