Is it her age and how do I deal with it?

DD is 6.

She has been stubborn, in an I know my own mind way, since she was about 3. I am hoping this will stand in her good stead when she is older but right now it has its challenges.

These last couple of weeks she has really developed an attitude. Not sure where it has come from (my son didn't have this attitude - he has his own personal attitude) or why she is doing it.

Lots of no one is listening, I will never do/say this, I will sit here forever then/stay in my room forever and never come out.

She used to be lovely to ds2 but has moments of being quite mean imo and has just spat at him. No idea where she has got that from.

I asked her if she liked this pasta, showing her the bag. She shook her head. I asked her what she wanted instead. She said she had nodded so I asked her again. She shook her head, then nodded it.

Kids!

Please help.

TIA.

Fucking hell. I have just asked her to do something. She keeps saying she can't. I ask her to try. I then send her to time out for being rude so she kicks ds1 on the way out.
