I think my 5 month old is starting to wean herself - onto newspapers!
Ok, that was a bit facetious.

She's at an age when everything goes into the mouth. Yesterday she was scrunching up magazine pages.
Sorry for TMI but here goes - Today she did a thick yellow poo (normal for her) inside it were a couple of dark green/black specks, and one large one, size of a coin. It was fibrous when I pulled it apart - do you think it was a bit of paper, and if so will it be harmful?

She is excl BF, (5 months), and am leaving weaning for another few weeks.

I don't think a little bit of paper will do any harm. My 19 month old DD still puts all sorts of things in her mouth. Paper has definitely been eaten. Yesterday she ate a bit of crayon and last week she tried chalk.

I am sure others can tell you their DCs have eaten all sorts of gross things from the garden. So I wouldn't worry.

Thanks mumtoem - I just hope it was paper.
I wouldn't be worried if she was on solids and her system was a bit more mature. She is in great form though so obviously ok!

Crayon though! Hope you don't get a fright when you see a bright blue (or whatever) nappy
