My 20 month old DS passed a 2p coin in his nappy yesterday evening which came as a surprise as we had no idea he had eaten it! Am glad it has passed but it seems to have co-incided with him not eating for the past 3 days. He will start to eat and then 1 or 2 mouthfuls later, he refuses and gets very upset. More worryingly, he wont drink his milk either and he never seems to refuse that!

Basically I dont know whether to seek medical help because he has already passed the coin but am worried it may have done some damage. Any advice welcome.

Yes of course you should seek medical advice!
Ring nhs direct.
I hope he is ok.

I think you need to see somebody. The two things may be unrelated but a 2p coin is a big thing.

Go on, get off the computer and see a doctor.

Think your right, never know whether I am over-reacting about when DS isnt well. I have rung NHS Direct who advised it could be a 6 hour wait for a callback so am calling out of hours doctor to make an appointment instead.

If he hasn't drunk his milk for a whilw he could be getting dehydrated.

I would be tempted to take him to a&e. If you go to the docs they will probably want to make sure there aren't anymore coins in there and you will end up going to hosp anyway.

It's sun morning they shouldn't be too busy. Good luck
