When do toddlers stop being “toddlers” and become children?

Babies stop being referred to as such when they start toddling/walking, but when do toddlers start being referred to as children instead?

DS is almost 3. DP and I were having this conversation the other night but couldn?t decide on the answer ? any thoughts?

i would say when they are around 3-4 when they start school and nursery and develop reasoning skills etc...but thats just a personal idea

It sneaks up on you without your noticing and one day you look at your child and it hits you that s/he is a child. The baby fat isn't there at all anymore, and before you stands a little girl or boy.

Hmm, I'd say ds2 who is 2.5 is a toddler still but he's coming close to not being - seems to be getting too old for being called a toddler.

Ds1 is 4 and deffo not a toddler.

I'm because ds3 is now cruising around the furniture and soon he won't be a baby anymore, he'll be a toddler..sniff.

My girls are 3 and I dont see them as Toddlers

Actually I see them as Horrors!!!!!!

At almost 3 I guess DS is deffo a child now then ? where did my baby disappear to?
