What are signs of autism?

lack of attention span. hitting. he is jsut 18mths old.

Lack of attention and hitting is fairly normal at that age. A better indicator of autism at 18 months is this test here

at 18 months too much attention (of your own choosing) is more of a sign. 18 months olds are meant to have short attention spans.

Yes. Ds2 was unusual because at that age he would sit at the table drawing pictures for more than an hour at a time. Flitting about from one activity to another was viewed as being far more normal.
