DD1 goes through phases of being quite extraordinarily lachrymose. She will weep tragically for, er, nothing really much at all.

Oh yes, utterly tragic. But then DD1 is a bit of a drama queen, to put it mildly, and can also find life side-splittingly hilarious. She is very full-on.

all day long it seems
everytime something doesn't go his way.

he is 2.

Oh yes, if I spoil her 'surprise' it's major tragedy. At least she's grown out of the phase where we would have to act out staged little conversations dictated by her, including my own script...

Four. And a few months. When I think about it, the crying has got less, quite a bit, recently so there IS hope.

maybe you can bribe a toddler but have you tried that with a 6ft 14 year old!

DD turned two today. She cries only during tantrums. She threw a massive strop involving many crocodile tears today when we had to go home from the grandparents. She usually gets angry when she's frustrated, rather than crying. But she is also pretty quick to give up and find something else to do.

She didn't cry much as a baby.

mandyc66 · 19/06/2005 21:28

Bribes just dont work...They want it so must have it...its'tight' not to let them!!!!!

mummylonglegs - the twins I mind sound similar to this. They're 22 months, and - the boy in particular - probably have about 3 of these a day, maybe more. It does seem to be getting worse too. I think it's just a stage tbh.
