testosterone surges in boys?

Every few months DS1 (8yo) gets a week or two when he suffers from terrible rages. I often put them down to tiredness or illness brewing, but I have noticed that they often coincide with him having a few spots.

Has anyone else noticed this and could it be to do with hormones? It's been happening for the last year and a half

Ds was like that but it always just before developmental jumps even at the age of your ds. We would notice a big improvement in vocabulary or Reading.

I have a younger ds (5) who seems to have testosterone surges every few weeks. He is quite a hectic boy naturally but goes into complete overdrive at times and almost can't control his energy. He struggles to sleep and is quite aggressive.

We've put it down to testosterone although can't be 100% sure. My ds is a bit young for the spots though but I would have thought this would have indicated your ds has something going on with his hormones...
