Seperation Anxiety - any tips on how to handle it with a 8 month old?

Hi

My son cries when I leave the room. How do I help him get over this. I am told its seperation anxiety - but must be a phase. Any tips on what I can do to speed up his getting over this phase?

Thanks - good point as he does seem a bit frustrated too that he can't get about more. He is quite close to crawling but not there yet. I will try and take him about with me more between rooms. Thanks so much.
