Giving up the bottle?

Not me, DD (18mo)

She has started to just suck on the end of the teat and is only taking about an ounce, but only days ago she was having 8oz morning and evening.

She is teething at the minute, molars AND canines, I think. So it might be that she is finding it uncomfortable to suck.

What are your experiences? When did your DC's give up the bottle?

TIA

dd went from bottle to cup for her milk around 15 months and ds was off bottles by 10 1/2 months. Have you tried offering milk in a lidded or open cup?

thanks Seona - yes I have. This morning I tried milk both from an open cup and from her tommee tippee (sp?). This evening I tried open cup again... she had a bit but no more than an ounce. She's never been into drinking milk from a cup... whenever I've tried she's made a disgusted face.

And she's always loved her bottles. I'm really bemused (and worried she'll wake in the middle of the night wanting food).

It's probably a temporary thing.

When she feels better she will probably start drinking again.

Mine did this when they were ill or teething
