Quick question about Manuka honey

Hi all, would appreciate a quick answer before DS 2.2 goes to bed tonight. He has a chesty night time cough which he has had for about 5 days now. I dont believe cough medicine works so have not given him any. As you will all probably know this means hubby and I are getting about 2 hrs sleep a night. Thought I might give him some manuka honey to see if this eases his sore throat/cough but I'm not sure if it is safe. He has normal honey often but I know manuka honey has live 'thingies' in it. Does anyone know?

I would imagine it is the same as other honey and can be given from the age of 1

this manuka honey says not suitable for under 1's.

check the jar as it might say something on it as to what age it can be used from

Thanks Seona, Jar says nothing. From Holland and Barrett so should be okay. I guess the one from your link says 1 year because that is the standard guideline.
