As long as he naps for you, that's the important thing surely

his mother is whom I'm i think it may annoy, just testing to see if i should not mention it when she asks whether he has been good!

tell her he sleeps when he's with you because he doesn't want to miss a minute of being with his mum

lemonice · 10/06/2005 22:01

Hewlettsdaughter - I did actually think that might be why it happens..

Oh, I meant it would just be a nice way of explaining things to your dd!

Think my dd naps better with her childminder, not sure why.

hewlettsdaughter · 10/06/2005 22:04

Maybe you (and my childminder) are just better at getting them to sleep! Just don't tell us that!

lemonice · 10/06/2005 22:09

I knew what you meant but I also thought perhaps it could be why..he's afraid she might not be there when he wakes up but he isn't that bothered about my being there! I think as well it's much easier when it isn't your child, i just put him down as though he is going to go off and not as though he isn't. She would love a break during the day but very rarely gets one.

He is about the same age as your dd IIRC 19 April 2004?

OP posts:
hewlettsdaughter · 10/06/2005 22:19

Yes, thought it was you! My dd was born 18 April last year.

hewlettsdaughter · 10/06/2005 22:22

Have to go now, have been on mumsnet far too long this evening! Nice to hear from you.

bigdonna · 10/06/2005 22:33

im a cm and the little girl i look after will not sleep weekends but mon-fri she has to have a sleep she asks to go to bed.i think it is probably because she is with me 50 hrs a week so she does not want to miss out on anything at home.

chipmonkey · 10/06/2005 22:54

My ds was the opposite, he slept at home but not at his creche and as a result was a miserable grump when he got home. Is is room dark enough and quiet enough? Also, I think that if he has an idea that his mum will come and get him if he makes enough noise then he will simply make enough noise!
