DD 3.5 dry since Christmas, started wetting bed night after playgroup

She loves playgroup, and would go every day if she could. Started this term with one morning a week, and this week started two mornings.
But this week and last, the night following she has wet the bed.
Is it because she is extra tired? or is it some pschological thing that I need to worry about?
Or is just one of those things?

Probably extra tired, and not waking enough to recognise the signals.

You could try giving her the last drink of the day a bit earlier, and insisting that the last thing she does before bed is visit the toilet.

If push comes to shove, you could try taking her to the toilet when you go to bed yourself. Only worth trying if you are fairly confident she'll fall straight back to sleep though.

Isn't it a pain when you think you've got something cracked - only to find you need to try again?

Thanks piprabbit. We always do wee before bed, but yes could give waking for another wee a try. It all depends on what phase of sleep she's in at the time though doesn't it!

Last week she was relatively cheerful and matter of fact about it, and went back to sleep quickly. Last night very upset and took ages to go back.

You'll probably try various things only to find it resolves all on it's own as her stamina increases and she gets used to the extra session at playgroup. .

That's reassuring, thanks. And makes sense, guess I've picked up so much on bed wetting is a sign of something wrong, that despite the fact she loves playgroup, I can't relax about it!

I know what you mean - I usually tend to overlook the obvious with my DC, in favour of the most worrying explanation I can think of .

If you DD appears to be happy and her normal self in other respects, then I'm sure it's just a temporary blip. I'd try not to worry unless it starts to drag on for weeks.
