Ideas please for toys for a 3.5 year old girl...thanks!!

My DD1 will be 3.5yrs in Nov and I have noticed she seems to have outgrown some if not a lot of her toys. Any ideas for what we could get her or put on her 'wish list' for Christmas?

lego, playmobil always at the top of lists for my girls. my 3 year old loves her dolls, role playing, dressing up, and the lego and playmobil.

Anything to scribble and draw with. My family went through several magnadoodles - fantastic toy for quiet play, bringing in the car... Building blocks fab too.

My DD same age just loves playing with her polly pockets- the ones with rubber clothes, shoes, hats etc Great for encouraging fine motor skills. We got alot of them from ebay.

She also loves her leap pad also from ebay!!

dd2 is 3.9 yrs and on top of wanting everything she also wants

I hoovered up a lot of the little rubber polly pocket clothes. Can your 3 yo realy get the clothes on and off? Mine find them really sticky and hard to manoeuver.

My dd's (4&2) want a v-smile console, they also enjoy playing lego, play doh and dress up.

hama beads, aqua beads, play doh ice cream and hair dresser, vsmile, vsmile art studio,doodle daisy,shaker maker etc...

I would say some of these suggestions a bit grown up for a 3.5yo...

How about rag doll - my DD loves Groovy Girls - or a baby doll (I don't like Baby Annabel but many do!)

Jigsaws? Playmobil maybe but my older 2 came to that (and Lego) a lot older.

craft kits (simple ones) or dressing up (disney princess etc) was what my DD loved at this age.

I think it depends on if the 3 year old is the oldest in the family - or the youngest! If youngest, then these toys come a lot earlier - my 3 year old is youngest of 3 and we already had all the toys and stuff in the house. She is a nightmare with hama beads, but does love the polly pockets and can manage most of the clothing. Same with playmobil. Lego (not duplo) she just about manages.

same dd spent ages painting this morning, so what about a bunch of new paint and paintbrushes, and a roll of lining paper?

yy ramona, you're right, DS2 is number 3 and loved playmobil from about 2.5.

I was assuming the OP's DD was oldest tho; DS1 had some playmoil for his 4th b/day but didn't reall ystart playing with it for about six months after that.

Yes she is the oldest (sorry for absence over the whole weekend!!!) Thanks for your replies.

She loves crafty stuff but has loads of all that, and has several rag dolls and baby dolls, buggy etc (although think I might upgrade her buggy as the noisy wheels on the £5 one drive me mad!!)

She's mad on little matchbox cars so I was thinking of a garage/carpark type thing too.

I think dressing up could be the way forward and I will google playmobil. I have heard of it but not entirely sure what it is exactly.

I'll also look at Polly Pockets.

What age do they normally start getting into Barbie/Sindy (I'm such a 70's child!)

Lego good option too. I just bought her little sister megabloks and she's enjoying that.

If she likes characters, my dd2(just 4) loved her Fifi watering can cottage and you can get some cute Peppa Pig playsets too.
Also, the dolls house gets played with alot.

She does play with dd1's barbie etc, but unless you get bits like a house, there's only so much dressing and undressing she can do!

She has a dolls house with very small bits which I put away when DD2 little as I didn't want her swallowing it but planning to get that out again soon.

I am a HUGE fan of WOW! Toys - they are quite hard to find in the shops but Amazon have a good range. They have some suitable for boys (diggers/tractors etc.) and some for girls (camper van/horse box etc.) but they all come with little figures. They also do a farmyard and a schoolhouse. My son has lots of them but I have also bought them for girls who can't leave them alone apparently!!! They are also bright and attractive and extremely hardwearing (they need to be in this house).
