Why do all little girls do this ?

I was at a wedding the other day and my daughter found another little girl to dance with at the reception. They held hands and walked around and around in circles. Sometimes running or skipping. I've noticed that all little girls seem to do this, and I just wondered why? I've noticed that boys don't do it. My daughter is 4.5.
If there is a reason for it I'd love to know.

Both my DCs do this - one's a boy though

Sorry I appear to have ruined your theory.

I had bf over for weekend - he has a 6 yo boy, a 4 yo girl and a 1 yo girl.

I have 3 yo boy and 6 yo boy.

The two 6 yo boys ran about, argued, power rangered at each other and threw toys.

The three year old boy generally tried to join in with this, but mostly sat downstairs with the baby, loving her.

The 4 year old girl got tired a lot. She also preferred at all times to sit with my 6 yo boy as opposed to her own (apparently less desirable) brother.

the baby gave me a baby fix, and made lots of pretend pancakes.

I am VERY tired.

Oh, so it's not just girls. I remember doing it as a child and just wondered if there was any explination appart from being barking mad.
