Constantly biting/chewing everything

My 19 month old has always been biting/chewing toys, books anything - which we've put down to her teething. Most of the time it seems to be that she is chewing where her teeth are already through. However it does mean that certain activities like using crayons, doing crafty things aren't possible because everything goes into her mouth. Any tips or is it just a time thing?

ds did this when he was teething or when he was hungry. I think that it is natural and now at nearly 3 he has grown out of it - so I wouldnt worry to much.
