please help!! 10 day old DD2 not pooed in 3, nearly 4 days!!1

have tried cooled boiled water, watered down milk, rubbing tummy clockwise and moving legs up and down and still it wont come. she is getting distressed! any hints greatly appreciated as its making me cry along with her!!!

breast or bottle fed?

bottle! breast for 5 days then refused to latch so switched!

what milk are you using? some milks seem to be more constipating than others.

I found that DS3 got constipated on SMA, although maybe it's the change from breast to bottle. My midwife suggested I try a little brown sugar diluted in cooled boiled water and it worked. It's old fashioned advice though.

aptimil!! my mum mentioned the brown sugar thing but didnt know if it was a 'criminal' offense these days!! might have to try...will try anything!

Had same problem and cured it with the sugar in the boiled water routine on my own Mums advice. Worried about confessing to the Health visiter and she just said at least it wasn't gin.
Drank the gin myself to get over it.
