Quick one as both ds due to wake up from sleeps.
Ds1 is 2.3 and we have been potty training for 3 days. He hass slightly more hits than misses, but mostly if I tell him to sit on it and catch it. The main problem is he can't pull his pants down by himself so if I leave him to attend to ds2 he tends to have an accident. Completely not phased if has an accident and doesn't even tell me.
So would you carry on or revert back to nappies?
Yes to carry on and no for nappies!

No - if he's not bothered, you're going to put in a lot of effort for little chance of success. Leave it till he cares about it!

Thanks Amuminscotland. That is what I think but wanted to make sure I am not just being lazy!

Can he not run round without pants on?

MmeLindt · 12/08/2009 13:12

Can you let him go without pants?

I would stick with it, if he is managing ok so far.

qumps · 12/08/2009 13:14

Ok good compromise. Will do no pants today and tomorrow and se what happens. In the mean time I will try and teach him to pull them up and down.

Agree, take pants off at home. If he is having more hits than misses on day 3, you may as well keep up with it.

qumps · 12/08/2009 13:18

I am going house stir crazy though!
Will attempt a walk (with pants on)this avo and take potty I guess.

One of my friends dressed her DC in pyjama bottoms while ptty training as they were easier to pull down then trousers. I don't know if that's of help at al if he's struggling with pants. I think DD was potty-trained no-pants first, she was a lot more reliable naked than dressed! Nothing to get in the way...
