How young can siblings be when they go in to a room together?

ds is 22 months, and is naturally in his own room, dc 2 is due in December and will probably spend the first 6 months in with us as we did with ds, but then can I put a 6 month old in the same room as a nearly 3 year old? Or should i keep dc 2 in with us until he/she's sleeping through (ds managed this by about 7 months - but lets face it, it could be ages)?

We tried to wait til DS2 slept through - but he never has!!!

He had terrible reflux and woke up screaming, but we put him in with DS1 (across the corridor from us for quick retrieval) when he was about 8 mths.

They love sharing and DS1 has never been woken by DS2.

It's great for bonding. Go for it.

We put ds1 and ds2 in the same room together when ds1 was 2.5yrs and ds2 was 16months, they woke each other up for first few nights but then got used to each other, the main 'issue' was settling them at night, if one is having a meltdown its not fair on the other one trying to get to sleep - if you don't mind doing controlled crying thats also impossible in a shared room imo
