My 8 year old has just tried to black mail me

We have to go into town to get my glasses fixed that one of them broke.

They were told we would be doing this when DS2 got up.

Having spent 25 minutes stood int he rain so they could play on their bikes, and another half hour sat on the front step so they could play in the car, not too much to ask.

He has just asked for a sweet in the car to stop him moaning. I said no so he said he would moan the whole way there.

he has had what he wants already today and I will not be blackmailed.

hold your ground, if you say no sweet, mean no sweet , give no sweet. of course he may moan, but hey, he's 8, 8 yr olds DO moan.

I didn't give in and they weren't that great while out but to be fair, they have been a lot worse and I did get support from the staff and that goes a long way with helping me manage.

He is desperate for his LCD game back so that is my bargaining tool for now.
