Does your 5-year-old want to move out?

Just wondered really. DS has often brought up leaving home, asked about ages that people move out, and has occasionally asked whether he can live with another family. It's happening a lot more now he's at home so much for the holidays, although we spend much of the time round at friends' houses, activities and so on. He does hate being an only child and I do know that, but it's not going to change. It does seem to me that the sheer amount he asks about it is unusual, but maybe lots of kids of his sort of age ask this?

Thanks for any responses

my dd1 was a bit like that at that age - was also an only child at the time.

She used to say she wished she lived at grandmas (although this was usually after not getting her own way )

She's now 7 and seems to have got over it (apart from saying she is marrying a classmate and moving to a big house in Leicester!!)

DS2 (5) threatens to move out virtually every time I tell him off. Unfortunately, he always phrases it 'I'm going to leave house' which makes me laugh every time!
