Oh my god - just did this, and based on current size and weight and the fact that dh is tall at 6 foot 2 - my son will end up a whopping 6 foot 6.

wonder how accurate this is. well - he may not end up being quite this tall, but tall enough i'm sure.

Not looked at the link but, if the father's height comes into it, wouldn't that mean that your own son would produce a 6'10" er? Think there must be a limit somewhere. Maybe?

oh well - that would almost work - he's 3 foot 2 now and just 2.

thing is - I'm {ehem} not very tall myself. Hb has nicknamed me "shortarse" - charming huh?

well tinker there must be a limit - but living in Holland (as i do) i wonder where the limit is. i have 2 colleagues who are 6 ft 11! i actually feel quite sorry for them as it must be a nightmare getting clothes etc and I would never want my child to end up at that extreme.

Think it's based on a curve - but don't understand why the fathers height is so important. After all - hb is smaller than his 6 ft 4 dad.

Just tried that, think I got it wrong, came out ds should make 6'8" but given that I was on here last week worrying about him only being on the 9th centile of his growth chart I think he will be lucky to make 5'8". Why am I so bad with numbers?

I've no idea how these things are supposed to work. Dd is 2 1/2 and 3 foot exactly. Dp is 6.4" and I'm 5,9" so we'd expect dd to be relatively tall. BUT my brother is also 6,4" while my mum is about 5,4" and my dad was 5.10" so where my brother and I got our height from is anyone's guess!

I just did that test anyway and it said dd would be 5,5" by the age of 18!! I put everything in right but am amazed by that conclusion!

I'm sure the figures they are using must be flawed.

We did all the calculations when the boys were younger - and again on their 2nd birthdays - and both came out at between 6' and 6' 4" (which would make them a bit taller than both DH and I).

The website makes DS1 6' 2" but reckons DS2 would be 6' 8". I'm positive that cannot be right!

Klara, I'm 5'8" and I feel small when I am on holiday in the Netherlands! Must be all that calcium rich cheese and milk!

And I think diet has a lot to do with how tall or the build of a person.

This said that our dst would be 5'9" and 5'10" which isn't too bad but our HV told us ages ago that with the method they use that dst would be both just over 6'.

Best method is just to wait and see I think!

Just did this but I use metric so I guesed the conversions and my son wilgrow to be 4"9. Wow considering DH is 6"1!!! Must try to do it properly.

OMG ds will be shorter than his sister!!!

You can also do the calculation when they are 2.

For boys its 1.37 x height in inches plus 22.5

For girls 1.17 x height plus 25

I'm not convinced by these calculation thingies. My Mum is only 5'2.5 and Dad is only 5' 8.5 but my brothers are both 6' and I'm 5'6.

My dh is 6'3 so I'm not expecting the ds's to be short but atm ds1 (4) is pretty short for his age. I was too, all through primary and my friend towered above me. She's now 5'2 while I'm 5'6 and 'towering' over her!
