hi was just wondering how tall and heavy your baby is? Everyone says my baby is so tall, I just can't see it! He is 79cm tall, 13m and weighs 25lb 9oz that was 2 weeks ago.Is this really big? He is in 12-18month clothes , which are big for him.
How big are your babies?

DS is 13mo and weighs about 20lbs. I have no idea how tall he is as I've never measured him, but he's not particularly short, I don't think. He wears 9-12 and 12-18mo clothes

Babies come in all shapes and sizes - just like bigger people, I spose!

loulabelle222 · 15/05/2005 19:25

Ds4 is 5months old tomorrow and weighs about 20lbs and is wearing 9-12 mth size clothes. Don't know his legnth but is quite tall too I think.

Compare that to my niece who is 13months and weigh about 16lbs!

ds is 8 months and is roughly 14lbs and about 62cm

hunkermunker · 15/05/2005 19:33

DS was mistaken for being about 17 months when he was about 10 months...by someone who has a 17 month old baby boy. I have no idea how!

ds1 was the size of a 2 year old in weight and height before he was a year old. When he had his first birthday he'd been walking for 3 months and everyone at the toddler group was astonished he was only one, they thought he was 2. Even now he is easily the tallest in his class and could pass for a couple of years older than he is. Size 7 feet as well now at age 11!!!

zebraX · 15/05/2005 19:56

DS2 is 11 months, very close to the size of an average 1yo (is that 74cm?). Nearly 10 kg (22 lb). He's pretty close to exactly average for his length/height... Sounds like Loulabelle's DS is a bit tall for height, but not spectacularly so.

gingernut · 15/05/2005 20:00

According to ds1's red book, at 13 months he was 77cm tall and just over 22lb. loulabelle, 79cm is fairly tall for a 13 month old boy (over the 75th centile but below 91st).

watso313 · 15/05/2005 20:08

my dts are very different in wieght they were wieghed at 9 month check dt1 (boy) was 24lb and dt2 (girl) was 18lb i suppose it depends on the individual even when they both eat the same still quite a difference as HM says all shapes and sizes.

Monkeysmom · 16/05/2005 10:42

My ds is 13 months old and is 80 cm tall. However, both myself and DH are tall so we are not surprised.
It is hard with clothes as 9-12months are too small and 12-18 too big.

dd is about 8½ stones and 5' 6"
ds1 is is about 12 stones and 6'
ds2 is about 11 stones and 6'

tarantula · 16/05/2005 11:46

dd is 16 mnths and like Lockets dd was last weighed at 9mnths (when we finally got round to her 8mnth check ). Shes also a stroppy moo.
AFAIK dd is healthy cos she eats quite well and runs round the playground like a looney so got no worried here. Shes in mostly 12/18 clothes tho still fits some 9/12. Quite happy for her to be small as its cheaper on clothes in the long run cheapskate that I am.

bensmum3 · 16/05/2005 19:19

Hi,
I think most of the other threads explain it very well, children are all different, my third was the same weight at 4 months as my 1st was at 13 months, I love them both and ds2 all the same and really don't worry about centile charts or comparisms with others, I do warn dd1 though that ds2 is going to be much bigger than her in a few years when she's winding him up

Celou · 24/05/2005 10:06

Dd is 10.5months, and I think she's 79cm, I say I think because I've just measured her myself and she wouldn't stay still, and at 8.5 months she was 72cm.
I don't get it, she must have grown so much in 2 months, unless I got it wrong. At 8.5 months she was 9.64kg (21lb49), so I think she's tall and fat (I'm tall and thin and my husband is short and chunky [not fat but muscly]).
A man told me that his 13months old daughter was a lot smaller than dd.

ghosty · 24/05/2005 10:14

DD is 15 months and weighed in at 12.2 kgs last week and 83 cm ...
On the big side for her age, but then she was 10lbs 10oz at birth ...

Celou · 24/05/2005 10:30

Sorry, got it wrong, i measured her properly and she is 75cm for 45 weeks which is a bit taller than the average, but at this age, their growth isn't so fast according to the chart. I suppose she's a bit fat for her height (she must be about 10kg now). Well, she looks fine to me!!

Windermere · 24/05/2005 10:33

ds is 9 months old about 23lb and just over 70cm.

Chuffed · 24/05/2005 10:43

dd 13mths 80cm and 10.3kg, so 98% for height and just under 50% for weight.

biglips · 24/05/2005 10:46

mine was weighed 2 weeks ago at 22lb and is 72cm long (she is nearly 8 months old)
