3 year check

My dd has her 3 year check next week, sure everyting will be fine, as she is almost 4!! But what do they look for.

Also can't find my record book, am I goingt o have to hunt in the loft or does it not matter to much now?

No idea as we no longer have a 3 year check here. I was told I would get a questionnaire to complete from the HV but not got that either.

I have my red book handy...I will go and see what it says.

On the parent's review pages it is a list of yes/no questions for you to complete regarding any worries about:
hearing
growth
eyesight
speech
understanding of what you say
health
behaviour
sleeping

and whether your child can:
walk
run
climb stairs
feed him/her self
play with other children

Also:
Has your child had a dental visit?
Are immunisations up to date?
Any accidents/illenesses since last check?
Is your child toiler trained?

I haven't bothered with DS having his check up, they don't routinely offer it anymore but I could have insisted.

When DD had her one, they showed her some pictures and asked her to name them. Gave her a puzzle to do, (very simple/basic puzzle). Also got her to walk across the room and run to look at her co-ordination.

Asked me lots of questions about her sleep, eating habits, speech, health and asked if I had any concerns.

On the page the HVcompletes there are spaces regarding:

Can child say/use 3 word sentences?
Any concerns regarding hearing/vision?
Immunisations up to date?

The assessment table (with space for HV to circle Normal/Recall/Abnormality known) includes:
visual behaviour
hearing behaviour
gross motor skills
fine motor skills
speech and language
social/play

Also room for height and weight data.

We had a questionnaire. It asked whether we had any worries about our child's eating, sleeping, potty training, language development, understanding of what we say, social development, emotional development, hearing, sight, physical development (fine motor skills, gross motor skills), and probably a few other things I've forgotten (returned it last week so I haven't got it in front of me). Oh, it asked whether they listen to and enjoy stories. We have to take him to the GP for a check up too...red book says they test hips, heart and testes in addition to the above.

Thanks, they sent me a questionnaire which I returned , I said on the questionnaire that she was having some behaviour problems which I thought were linked to her Dad;s access and the divorce generally. After much presistence I managed to get an appointment with the child mental health team, maybe that is why they want to do the check in person rather than rely on a questionnaire.
