How do i respond to this question from a curious DS1?

"Mummy look! My Willys grown bigger! Why does it do that?"

How do i respond to that? Its something he is doing a lot latley and im not sure how o deal with it. I don't want o tell him off, but it is inapropriate for him to do it in front of DS2 or on the Sofa while the family is around......

How do i tell him ots ok to do but best kept for when he is on his own as its private?

He is 4 btw.

Just say that! It's ok but in your bedroom, when you are on your own.

And as to why, well, if you said "That's what willies do." would that be good enough?

You tell him exactly what you've written here. That it feels nice and it's okay but it's private.

I have told my DS (also 4) that he can play with his willy at home but nowhere else, because willies and bums are private. (He is rather fond of fiddling with it in the bath, which I think is up to him...) Agree with Hecate about 'Well, that's what willies do' as a good answer.
