my 5 year old has become very clingy, what ever he does or wants he always calls for mummy never daddy. I cannot go in the other room without him having to follow me. He calls me constantly night and day. I tell him I love him everyday. Has anyone got any suggestions?

has he just started school?

if so how is he there?

Has he watched something frightening on TV like Dr Who???

Have you started new job?

reverse it

cling on to him for a change

eg grab him when he's in the middle of something and hug and kiss him lots

takes a few days but seems to work with mine

Jk started full time at school in January. I started a new job last September, but i also took him with me when he was at school part-time because I work with at a Playgroup. I have also included jk in work. I will try and reverse and kiss and cuddle him in the middle of what he is doing and see what he does. Thanks

I have tried to reverse it and give jk lots of kisses and hug him when he is in the middle of doing something. He responds well and returns my kisses and tells me he loves me but he is still clingy. I will keep trying.
