HELP! 10 days old baby boy - wheezing every 10 to 20 minutes

My little baby boy started wheezing ocassionally from yesterday... shortness of breath and the ocassional wheezing every 10 to 20 minutes.

He is feeding well (breast milk) and sleeps ok, but with the wheezes he often jerks his whole body with arms and legs spasming out which can wake him from his sleep.

Really really worried, as I'm a first time mum and have no idea what is wrong with him (if there is anything wrong with him)!

Has anyone else experienced this with their baby? If so any ideas/helpful advice please??

Why don't you phone NHS 24 this evening and ask them? Then take him to the doctor. Best not to take any risks with a baby so young and it will put your mind at rest.

ring your GP's out of hours service and speak to the doctor on call. they should be able to get someone out to you asap. don't take no for an answer on this one, stick to your guns and get him seen.
