When do molar teeth come through? 8 months too early?

My 8.5 month old has all 8 front teeth. However, he is still irritable, is constantly sucking and chewing his fingers and dribbling emormously. I had hoped from some 'teething issues respite', but am now wondering whether it could be his molars coming through?

Does anyone have/has had a baby with molars at this age?

Could be, my dd1 had her molars through younger than I expected, they were all through by just over a year.
