Did you? And if you did, at what age did you take it off?
TIA

I had one from about 20 months till just over 2, throughout the 'will not ever stay in bed' phase

no

forkhandles · 02/06/2009 21:17

no, never have done, we just keep putting them back in to bed

I have just put one on dds door. She is 3.5 with sn and we have just put her from cot to bed.We don't have one on the stairs so it would be a risk if she opened her door and wandered.

Didn't have one fro ds.

only had it closed till he fell asleep then left open all night

McDreamy · 02/06/2009 21:21

No have never used them. Just take them back to bed.

I have on on my bedroom door (I co-sleep with my 2 DS's) as my 4 year old is quite likely to try to sneak my 18 month out the room and down the stairs. My 4 year old can climb over it but it keeps the 18 month old safe.

I do for DD1, 3.6 with SN. I put it on when she went from cot to bed. She would flood the bathroom & it would be impossible to keep her in her room.

I will for DD2 when she moves from cot to bed, but anticipate that I will remove it once she gets the hang of it.

We have the stairgates that you can remove outright in an emergency by lifting them off the hinges.

yes because ds2 would wander round the house and his room is nowhere near mine.

It went on when he went into a bed and I have taken it off yesterday! He is now just literally 3.

It was for safety rather than keeping him in his room, never had to rapid return him (yet)
