Hi hoping someone can offer some advice to 2 v.upset parents....

our 18 month old girl has recently been getting more and more obsessed with me when my husband and I are both in the room at the same time i.e. she is fine with him when they are own their own together but as soon as I walk in the room she comes straight to me.

At bed time, she will only lie on me before going to bed whereas she used to love lying on my husband. And cries if he takes her to bed instead of me now.

Final straw tonight was when we held hands on the sofa and daughter wouldn't let us or let my husband put hand on my leg!!!

Tried saying no which leads to massive tantrum but it is really upsetting both of us now as we know its not intentional.

Any advice please to get her to snap out of it?? Or similar experiences.......

Thanks

My DD is doing exactly the same ATM. DH has just gone away with the forces so it's not an issue for us right now, but it was hard work.

It's a phase, she'll grow out of it soon.

It's a phase; she thinks you 'are' her in some way, and she would be the same if there was another baby around. DD1 was like that, DD2 (20 mo) is like that now. Around 2 years, DD1 got obsessed with DH instead. But it carried on for ages, e.g. 'It's not fair, you get to go to bed with Daddy and I'm all alone, etc.' - aged 4.5)
Try distracting her. If she's jealous when you're talking to DH, then point out something exciting on the other side of the room, a toy, etc., but don't allow her to 'win' (if you had a 2nd baby to care for, you wouldn't give in, same goes for DH).
HTH.
