Is this normal? Learning to walk...

DS2 is 15 months. He took his first steps nearly 2 months ago but still not properly walking.
He can walk very steadily but has no idea how to get to a standing position at all.
He walks a bit, stops/falls down and then has to crawl until he gets to the sofa or a table to pull himself up on!

Ds1 took his first steps at 11 months and within a week was no longer crawling and walked everywhere!

Is it normal to take so long to learn to stand up from a sitting position???

That is very normal. I would only worry when your child is two years old.

I'd say normal. My DS took his first steps just after his 1st Birthday, but didn't actually walk again until 16 months. Took him a while to figure out sit to stand, and think that's why he spent the extra time crawling.

I also blame WheelyBug. bloody thing

yes, very normal. Every child does it differently.

we've got wheelybug too... he's using it as a walker right now!

V normal. DS didn't walk until 19 months.

fucksticks - we actually confiscated WheelyBug for a few weeks when DS was 15 months as we figured it was stopping him walking (he was on it ALL the time)

Think it was preferable to walking, and I'm sure if we hadn't given him one for his 1st Bday he'd have been walking sooner. Lazy tike

We've let him have it back now
