Hi there

I have twin girls 10 1/2 mths. One has always been way ahead of the other with her physical development and i have worried/asked questions every step of the way1!! aaarggghh this comparing twin thing does my head in!!! She has always reached these milestones thhough - she is much more studious - examines things and is very good with her hands.

My worry of the week this week is her inability to roll over and therefore get up?? she is very sturdy sitting up - is now on the move - funny short of bum shuffle/crawl (started few days ago)

Do you reckon i should be worried about this at this stage???

Thanks again (would hate to look back at my posts and see all my similar worries !!)

oh my ds2 can't roll over either - and my ds1 never did - well as he is now 6 i guess he learnt at some stage but not when he was a baby
is she quite chunky? my theory is that the chunky ones are good at sitting but not at moving

yeah pretty chunky - she is 3 lb heavier than he lightning speedy twin sis!! more bum to shift i expect

DS first rolled at 11m. (Which worried me as DD rolled at about 6w.) He now toddles at a frightening rate and climbs dangerously.

I suspect if your DD can do other things (sit and shuffle etc), I wouldn't worry.

My daughter rolled over twice screamed the place down and never did it again, she didnt crawl untill a week before her first birthday and walked at 14 months.
Having said that she started talking at 5 months and used to say want that mummy befor she was one so didnt need to move.
They all go at the pace they want to just dont panic yet.

ds1 rolled at 4 months, crawled at 9 months and walked at 11 months
ds2 NEVER rolled, crawled at 11 months and still cant walk at 15 months! he's nearly there though
they all get there in their own time

FrannyandZooey · 20/05/2009 19:38

he's 10 months and he's only just learned to crawl (slowly)

Hi, my DD could roll over until well after she learned to walk, if that helps at all. She could walk at 14 months (never crawled) and only rolled over at about 18 months. I must say, it was lovely having an immobile baby for 14 months!

Horton · 20/05/2009 20:08

Sorry, that should say COULDN'T roll over, obviously!

outinthesticksmummy · 20/05/2009 21:09

aw thats reassuring!! agree it is nice to know shes safe when i lie her down - unlike her twin sis!!

well after assuring you that he can't do it, ds2 has now taught himself and spent half the night practising
