Bathing/showering alone - what age??

DSs aged 7 & 8 have a bath or shower with hairwash to combat sweaty head odours every night (otherwise they honk - to my nose anyway, tis delicate ) but I am starting to get rather bored with doing it and am knackered come 7.00pm. They love their baths and won't go to bed without one, I really want them to start doing it themselves so what age did yours start??

They have only recently started getting themselves washed and dressed in the mornings although I still have to do my sargeant major act and can't leave them on their own or they'd still be upstairs an hour later!! I have always done everything for them as it's quicker but am getting fed up now!!

I read that lo's are at most risk up to the age of 5.

At that age, I think I would help run the bath, then leave them to it, maybe help them to wash hair.

Or is the 8 yr old sensible enough to run the bath himself.

my boys 8 &5.7 do themselves

I leave the 4 and 7 year old together for brief periods in the bath together and infact on holidy they were in the bath 20 minutes without any involvement on my behalf. The 6 y/o will bath on her own without any help apart from the occassional hairwash.

My 8 and 5 year olds bath together on their own. They're fine. But the 8 year old in particular has very, very long hair and can't wash it herself.

I'd say well old enough to do it themselves. Even my ds was doing it at age 7, and he is pretty clueless tbh.

ds is 5 and a half and will sit in the bath alone but I sit on our bed or at the top of the stairs and he leaves the door open. I do go in and wash his hair and make sure he is ok getting in and out of the bath and randomly shout how long he has left.
