DD blaming everything on an imaginary baby

I'm on a roll starting threads today!

Anyway, I've noticed my DD doing something odd, and was just wondering if it is normal or not. She's 2.3, and has started blaming stuff on a completely imaginary baby. EG when she cries, I ask her why she is crying and she says "no, baby crying", when she yawns I ask her if she is tired and again, "baby tired". A couple of times she has brought her doll to me and said "baby crying, hungry chips" which presumably means she fancies some chips. The "baby" never wants things like the potty or to walk instead of using the pram-ie things she sees as "big girl" things. The "baby" tends to want more basic things like food, bed or cuddles. She also often tells me "DD big girl" as if to underline that she is not the baby that she is talking about.

This has only started since I told her there is a baby in my tummy-could it be she is worried about being displaced by the new baby? Or is it just her being imaginative and i should stop worrying?

It sounds benign. Sounds cute! Wait and see and don't worry until you need to!
