My girl is 16 months and is still not walking or talking (there is sometimes a type of mama when she is upset). Is this normal?

When did yours start?

My dd (16 months) is not walking or talking (bar Duck).

Don't worry - they are all so very different!

Kalo - that's just like my BIL - he is now a massive rugby player!

My ds is 18 months and in the past week starting walking, but still sees crawling as getting him there quicker. His verbal reportaire consists of 'doggie' when it's said a load of times, 'ca ca' (cat) and maaaa when he's annoyed. No mama or dada yet.

My ds takes part in a developmental research study (was featured recently on a BBC channel, but obv he wasn't on it) and the women who do it are lovely and explained to me that some of their babies didn't walk until nearly 2.

My bro hardly talked until he was 4 and had to see SALT. Turns out I was talking for him - do you have any older children? If you are worried about speech you should get a hearing test done just to rule it out as some babies can get glue ear.

If you're worried ask to see a pediatrician. They don't go by milestones and say babies are 'unfolding' - as in some just take their time to get to those milestones. I know my ds has been late with everyting except crawling (could crawl months before he could sit unaided) so I just think it takes him a wee bit more time to get the grasp of things.
